Acceptable Use Policy

What you may not upload or generate, and how we enforce it

2026/08/21

Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs every image you upload to AI Depixelate and every result the service produces for you. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaching this policy is a breach of those Terms.

Our service takes an image you supply and uses an AI model to reduce pixelation and improve clarity. It is not a general image generator: it does not create new subjects, and it does not take text prompts from users. That narrows the risk, but it does not remove your responsibility for what you upload.

Prohibited Content

You may not upload, process, or attempt to generate any of the following.

Sexual content

  • Pornographic, sexually explicit, or otherwise NSFW imagery
  • Nudity intended to be sexual in nature
  • Any sexualized depiction of a real person created or enhanced without their consent

Content involving minors

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, real or synthetic
  • Any sexualized, suggestive, or exploitative depiction of a minor
  • Any image of a minor uploaded for the purpose of harassment or endangerment

There is no warning and no second chance for this category. Accounts are terminated immediately and we will report the matter to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.

Violence and graphic material

  • Gore, mutilation, or graphic depictions of death or serious injury
  • Imagery that glorifies, incites, or threatens violence
  • Content promoting self-harm or suicide

Hate and harassment

  • Content that attacks, degrades, or dehumanizes a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or veteran status
  • Symbols, slogans, or imagery of hate groups
  • Content used to bully, threaten, stalk, or harass a specific person

Deepfakes and impersonation

  • Images altered to make a real, identifiable person appear to do or say something they did not
  • Content presenting a restored or enhanced image as an authentic, unmodified photograph in order to deceive
  • Impersonation of another person, brand, or organization
  • Fabricated evidence intended for use in legal, journalistic, financial, or law-enforcement contexts

Our restoration reconstructs plausible detail; it does not recover information that was never in the file. Output must never be presented as a factually accurate record of the original scene.

Intellectual property violations

  • Images you do not own and have no right to use
  • Content that infringes another party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property
  • Counterfeit goods, forged documents, or imitation branding

Privacy and identity

  • Government-issued identity documents, passports, or financial instruments belonging to someone else
  • Images obtained without the subject's consent where consent was required
  • Content exposing another person's private information

Illegal and abusive use

  • Any use that violates applicable law in your jurisdiction or ours
  • Fraud, phishing, or the creation of deceptive material
  • Circumventing our rate limits, free allowance, or security controls, including through automated access or multiple accounts

How Uploads Are Screened

Automated screening runs on every image. Uploads pass through the safety systems of our AI processing provider before any result is returned. Content that trips those systems is refused, the job is marked as blocked, and no output is produced. This check cannot be bypassed or retried.

Human review happens on report. We do not routinely browse user images. Uploaded images and results are automatically deleted 24 hours after processing, so review is generally possible only while that window is open — please report violations promptly.

We keep limited metadata. Account identifiers, timestamps, and a hashed IP address are retained after the images themselves are deleted, so that abuse can be traced and repeat offenders identified even once the underlying files are gone.

Reporting a Violation

If you believe content processed through our service breaches this policy, or that your image, likeness, or copyrighted work has been misused, contact us.

Please include:

  • What you are reporting and which category above it falls under
  • Any URL, job reference, or timestamp you have
  • Your relationship to the content, for example whether you are the subject or the rights holder

We acknowledge reports within 3 business days. Reports concerning minors are escalated immediately on receipt. If you are the rights holder of infringing material, tell us so in your message and we will treat it as a takedown request.

Reports made in good faith will never count against your account.

Consequences of a Violation

Depending on severity and history, we may:

  1. Block the individual upload, which the automated filter does on its own
  2. Issue a warning to the account
  3. Suspend the account, temporarily or permanently
  4. Terminate the account and forfeit any remaining credits without refund
  5. Report the account to law enforcement where the law requires it or the content warrants it

Content involving minors goes straight to step 5. For everything else we weigh what happened, whether it looks deliberate, and whether it has happened before.

Appeals

If you believe your account was actioned in error, contact us from the email address on the account and explain the circumstances. We will review and reply within 30 calendar days. Terminations for content involving minors are not subject to appeal.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service changes or as new categories of misuse appear. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
