Artificial intelligence for image restoration

Depixelate Image AI — Fix Pixelated Photos with Artificial Intelligence

Use AI to remove blocky artifacts, rebuild cleaner edges, and add natural-looking detail to low-resolution photos. Upload an image, let the model process it, compare the exact before and after, then download the enhanced PNG.

Beyond ordinary resizing

How AI fixes a pixelated image

Reads the whole scene

The model does not judge each pixel in isolation. It uses nearby shapes, colours, and repeated patterns to tell a real edge from a compression block.

Reconstructs plausible detail

Super-resolution predicts detail that fits the image, producing smoother contours and more coherent texture than nearest-neighbour or bicubic enlargement.

Keeps you in control

A before-and-after slider makes every change visible. Inspect the result at full size before downloading rather than trusting an automatic enhancement blindly.

One browser tab

Depixelate a photo with AI in three steps

  1. 1

    Upload the best source

Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB. Start with the largest original available; screenshots and repeatedly shared copies have less real information for the AI to work with.

  2. 2

    Let the model reconstruct it

The AI suppresses pixel blocks and compression noise, then rebuilds edges and surface texture. Most ordinary photos complete within a few seconds.

  3. 3

    Compare before downloading

Drag the divider across the same crop. Check faces, text, and fine patterns at 100%, then download a lossless PNG if the reconstruction looks natural.

AI enhancement is designed for visual improvement, not forensic recovery. It cannot reveal information that was deliberately hidden or permanently removed.

Depixelate image AI questions

How does AI depixelate an image?+

The model analyses nearby pixels and the wider scene, removes block-shaped compression artifacts, and reconstructs plausible edges and texture. It is more capable than a standard resize because it can add visually consistent detail instead of only stretching the pixels already present.

Does AI recover the exact original detail?+

No. Missing detail is reconstructed, not recovered. The result can look much clearer, but tiny text, jewellery, hair, and deliberately censored areas may not match the original scene and should not be treated as evidence.

Which images work best with AI depixelation?+

Small photos, compressed JPGs, old web images, portraits, pet photos, and product shots usually respond well when the subject is still recognisable. A larger and less-compressed source will produce the most reliable result.

Can I use the AI depixelator on my phone?+

Yes. The upload, processing, comparison, and download workflow runs in a modern mobile browser as well as on desktop. JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 10 MB are supported.
